The numbers reported

How the buyback was run

The buyback was authorised by a resolution of the Board of Directors dated August 5, 2026. Buying was done through the open market using the electronic trading facilities of BSE Limited and National Stock Exchange of India Limited, and it commenced on August 13, 2026. Purchases were made from shareholders and beneficial owners other than promoters, members of the promoter group or persons in control. The Maximum Buyback Size and Maximum Buyback Price do not include transaction costs such as brokerage, fees, turnover charges and taxes.

What the shareholding looks like after the buyback

The update notes that the company is in the process of extinguishing equity shares bought back between October 1, 2026 and October 16, 2026, and the post-buyback shareholding is presented assuming that extinguishment of all equity shares bought back has been completed. It also includes equity shares allotted under the Employee Stock Option Plan of the company after the date of the public announcement.

What comes next

A post-Buyback public advertisement will be released, and the pre- and post-buyback shareholding pattern is enclosed with the update. The information will also be available on the company's website and on the websites of the stock exchanges where its shares are listed.

How a retail investor might read this

A buyback is a way for a company to buy its own shares back from shareholders, which reduces the number of shares outstanding. Here, the exercise has been completed and the entire earmarked amount has been used. The update shows the actual outcome of the buyback — the number of shares bought back, the average price paid and the amount spent — along with how the shareholding pattern stands after the exercise. Whether this is viewed positively or otherwise depends on each investor's own reading; the update only records the completion and the resulting shareholding.
