Revised release, one correction

This is a re-issued press release for the quarter and half year ended 30 September 2026. The company states that the earlier release carried an inadvertent typographical error in the EBIT figure, which has been corrected, and that nothing else in the release has changed. The figures below are from the corrected version.

Orders and sales

Demand is described as strong across established segments and emerging ones such as data centres and semiconductors. The company says conversion of order wins into sales is progressing well and project execution has picked up.

Profitability

The company attributes the lower profitability to commodity price volatility and the lag in passing on higher input costs on certain legacy orders. It adds that margins are improving sequentially as it executes orders booked at current cost levels.

Capacity expansion at Kolkata

The Board of Directors, at its meeting on 29 October 2026, approved a further capacity expansion at the Kolkata Medium Voltage Components (KMVC) facility. The planned investment is INR 211 crores, to be funded through internal accruals and/or external borrowings. The plan covers an increase in vacuum interrupter capacity, from 250,000 to 375,000 units per annum, plus an addition of 18,000 units per annum of breaker capacity, to be completed by the end of FY 2028-29. The company links the investment to capacity augmentation, export growth plans and technology upgradation.

Recognition

The release also refers to renewable electricity across its manufacturing sites and a reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions over three years.
