What held the quarter back
Flooding at the company's Silvassa premises caused around 1.5 months of disruption. The floods also delayed the ramp-up of the newly commissioned liquid detergent plant at Silvassa, which the company now expects to normalise by the end of Q3 FY27. A one-time exceptional loss of Rs. 1.3 crore arose from the deductible on the insurance policy; this is excluded from the adjusted PAT figures above.
Footwear business
- The division faced cost pressure in Q1FY27 from higher raw material costs and revised wage rates
- Legacy fixed price orders were completed and fresh orders were secured at revised prices
- The division returned to profitability in Q2FY27, and October 2026 recorded its highest-ever monthly turnover, with an order book giving visibility until March 2027
Cash and recognition change
H1 FY27 cash flow from operations stood at Rs. 58 crore, helped by early progress in moving some customer businesses from gross to net revenue recognition. Additional customers have agreed to shift to net revenue recognition from Q4 FY27.
Expansion projects
The detergent bar plant at Lucknow, the Greek yoghurt facility in Goa and the Ayurveda wellness plant at Baddi are running 1–2 months behind schedule due to delays in supply of critical imported equipment. Commercialisation is now expected in the early part of Q4 FY27.
Guidance
The company said the Silvassa disruption and commissioning delays have affected the expected earnings contribution for FY27, but it reaffirmed its PAT guidance of Rs. 200–220 crore and expects to close around Rs. 200 crores PAT for FY27, with Q4 FY27 expected to be the major contributor.
What a retail investor can take away
Revenue and profit grew at a double-digit pace despite a flood-related shutdown, and the company has kept its full-year profit guidance in place while shifting more of the expected earnings to the fourth quarter. The one-time flood loss is quantified and stated to be insured, subject to the deductible.
