- Profit for the period (Q2 FY27)
- Rs. 14,239 lakh
- Profit for the preceding quarter
- Rs. 37,881 lakh
- Total Insurance Revenue
- Rs. 2,72,049 lakh
The board met on 5 November 2026 and approved the unaudited financial results for the quarter and half-year ended 30 September 2026, prepared on Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS).
The accounting change first
The company had permission (forbearance) from IRDAI to use the older method for FY 2026-27, but chose to give it up voluntarily, with 1st April 2025 as the transition date. Because the basis of reporting has changed, reconciliation statements are included that compare the earlier GAAP figures with Ind AS figures, so older reported numbers are not directly comparable.
- Equity as per Ind AS at 1 April 2025: 7,09,809 lakh
Quarter in numbers (Rs. in lakhs, Ind AS)
- Total Insurance Revenue: 2,72,049
- Profit before tax: 19,018
- Profit for the period: 14,239
- Profit for the period in the preceding quarter (ended 30 June 2026): 37,881
Auditor's review
Both joint statutory auditors, PKF Sridhar & Santhanam LLP and Kirtane & Pandit LLP, carried out a limited review, which is a check lighter than a full audit and gives moderate, not full, assurance. Their conclusion carries no qualification: nothing came to their attention that causes them to believe the statements contain a material misstatement or miss disclosures required under the listing rules.
Operating indicators printed in the update
- Combined Operating Ratio for the quarter: 95.8%
- Solvency Ratio (as per IGAAP) as at 30 September 2026: 2.40
Other decisions and disclosures
- Amalgamation: the scheme involving Go Digit Infoworks Services Private Limited and the company is moving through approvals. The NCLT Mumbai bench order dated 13 August 2026 allowed the first motion application and dispensed with the requirement of obtaining approval of the creditors.
- A meeting of the equity shareholders on the scheme was held on 5 November 2026, the same day as the board meeting.
- Expenses: the notes state that expenses relating to the insurance business were in excess of the limits in the IRDAI (Expenses of Management, including commission of insurers) Regulations, 2024 for the six months ended 30 September 2026, and that the company has submitted information to IRDAI for the financial year ended March 31, 2026 seeking forbearance.
- Share capital: 6,47,551 equity shares were allotted during the six months ended 30 September 2026 pursuant to employee stock options.
What a retail investor can take away
The update is mainly a results disclosure. Three things stand out. One, the shift to Ind AS changes how figures are presented, so the reconciliation statements are the right place to compare old and new numbers. Two, the note on expenses running above regulatory limits along with the request for forbearance points to a regulatory cost issue. Three, the amalgamation is a structural step still going through approvals. The auditor's conclusion itself is clean, with no qualification.
