What the board approved

At its meeting on October 28, 2026, the Board of Directors approved the unaudited standalone and consolidated financial results for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2026, along with the statutory auditor's limited review reports. It also approved a proposal to set up a Borosilicate 3.3 glass tubing furnace at the company's Bharuch plant.

The proposed furnace

Why the company is doing this

Glass tubing is a main raw material for the company's glassware products and is presently procured from overseas suppliers. The project is intended to establish backward integration, reduce dependence on imported tubing, improve supply-chain reliability and control over quality and availability, and potentially optimise manufacturing costs of glassware products. The tubing would primarily be used for captive consumption, with surplus production sold in the external market. The company would also apply for subsidy benefits on the eligible investment under the Viksit Gujarat Industrial Policy 2026.

Quarterly numbers (standalone, Rs in lakhs)

For the half year, revenue from operations was 20,409.07 (previous year 18,849.09) and profit was 1,309.33 (previous year 797.82). The previous year's half year carried an exceptional item of Rs. 661.31 lakhs towards a Voluntary Retirement Scheme at the Ambad, Nashik plant, so the profit figures of the two half years are not like-for-like at the pre-exceptional level.

How the businesses did in the quarter (standalone segment revenue and result)

The company reclassified its reporting segments this quarter, with prior periods restated to the new structure.

Balance sheet snapshot (standalone, Rs in lakhs)

Total assets stood at 55,831.02 as at September 30, 2026, against 54,922.61 as at March 31, 2026. Total equity was 47,549.47 against 46,178.55, and cash and cash equivalents were 1,101.75 against 1,268.39. Borrowings shown under current financial liabilities were 30.71 at both dates.

How to read it

On the face of it, the update carries two distinct pieces of information: a quarterly result set and a growth capex plan. The furnace is intended to bring a key input in-house and reduce reliance on imports, but it is a proposed capacity addition with commercial production expected only by March 31, 2028, and it is to be funded from internal accruals and / or borrowings. The quarterly profit is lower than the same quarter a year earlier, while the half-year profit is higher, largely because of the exceptional item in the earlier half year.
