Zinc India
- Mined metal production was 271 KT in Q2 FY27 and 539 KT for the first half, which the release describes as the highest-ever first half mined metal production, driven by higher ore production.
- Refined metal production was 264 KT in Q2, helped by debottlenecking projects at Chanderiya and Dariba and the roaster at Debari.
- First half saleable metal was 524 KT, up 6% year on year.
- Saleable silver production in the quarter was 173 metric tonnes, in line with the production plan.
Zinc International
- Total mined metal for the quarter was 53 KT, with Gamsberg mined metal content at 46 KT.
- Gamsberg Phase 2 was commissioned in Q2 FY27, and saleable production from it is expected to start from Oct 2026.
- The release says BMM plant operations stabilised during the quarter.
FACOR
- First half ore production was 202 KT, the highest-ever for a first half, largely helped by the restart of Kalarangiatta Mines.
- Ferro chrome production in the quarter was 24 KT.
Copper
- Copper India sales were 52 KT in the quarter, with Silvassa plant sales volumes growing year on year.
- Copper International sales were down 74% year on year, as copper rod sales at Fujairah were adversely impacted by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
Ports
- First half discharge volume was 4,185 KT, the highest-ever first half cargo handling for the business, supported by improved operational efficiency and cargo flow.
What this update is
- It is a production and volume update for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2026, giving output figures segment by segment with year-on-year comparisons.
- The release states that the operational performance has been published for the business constituents of the demerged company, and that the performance of the other demerged businesses is published separately in their own releases.
- At the segment level the direction is mixed: record first half figures in zinc, ferro chrome ore and port volumes, along with a new phase starting at Gamsberg, against a sharp fall in copper rod sales at Fujairah and lower total mined metal at Zinc International.
