Unifinz Capital India Ltd has informed the exchanges of another incident of cyber fraud, following the earlier incident reported to the Stock Exchange on 21st October, 2026.
What the company said happened
Unidentified individual(s), unrelated to the Company, issued fraudulent payment instructions to the banker of the Company's Disbursal Bank Account. Certain fraudulent payments were then made to third-party bank accounts from the designated Disbursal Account on Friday, 23rd October, 2026, through the automated API-integrated disbursal engine, bypassing the Company's normal payment and authorization processes. The time of occurrence is given as between 12:01 PM and 14:45 PM.
The money involved
- The covering letter puts the fraudulent payments at Rs. 7.27 crores.
- The annexure gives the estimated financial impact and the estimated amount involved as ~₹7.27 crore.
- That amount moved through 309 separate transactions, each between ₹99,989 and ₹2,50,000, to third-party bank accounts.
- The company states the estimated financial impact is subject to the outcome of the investigation and recovery proceedings.
What has been done so far
- Once the company identified that the fraudulent transactions were debited, the disbursal API from the bank's side has been suspended.
- The company says it is investigating this subsequent incident and is in the process of update formal complaints with the relevant cybercrime and law enforcement authorities.
- The company has stated that no disruption to the business operations of the Company has been identified.
What investors may track
- The outcome of the investigation and of the recovery proceedings, which the company has itself linked to the final impact.
- Any further material developments in relation to the incident, which the company has said will be promptly intimated to the Stock Exchange.
How to read this
The update quantifies a fraud at the payment and authorisation layer: money moved out of the company's own disbursal account without passing through its normal payment and approval process. Because the figure is described as an estimate subject to investigation and recovery, the eventual amount can differ from the ~₹7.27 crore now reported. The disclosure also refers to an earlier incident reported on 21st October, 2026.
