How a retail investor can read this
- A new exclusive brand store is a physical retail addition. It expands where the company's products are available to walk-in customers.
- The intimation sets out the location of the store and the date of opening.
- Store additions are usually part of a company's distribution and brand-building effort. How much a single store adds to overall business depends on footfalls and sales at that location over time, which build up gradually.
What to keep in mind
The update is an update on the company's retail presence. It is not a financial statement, and no revenue, cost or margin figures for the new store are part of this intimation.
