New CEO's first call
Vivek Jetley addressed investors on his first earnings call as CEO, alongside CFO Vikash Kumar Jain. He said the company will not be providing an outlook for the current quarter, Q4CY26, and that priorities for the year ahead and the key assumptions behind them will be shared when the full-year results are reported. He also said a strategic plan will be shared once his assessment is complete.
Quarter in numbers
- Revenue was $412 million, up 1.6% sequentially. Management said this was below expectations, reflecting softness in one GSE client and slower than anticipated progress in selected large deals.
- Adjusted EBIT margin was about 13.8%, excluding one-off costs related to the restructuring of the Netherlands operations.
- Growth was led by Banking and by TPP, the Technology Products and Platforms business. On a geography basis, Europe and APAC were described as big drivers.
Stated guidance and targets
- No outlook for Q4CY26, with the stated aim of improving the rigour and accuracy of forecasts before the next outlook.
- Over the next 90 days the CEO listed three priorities: spending time with strategic clients, people and execution, and capabilities and investment choices.
- The previously stated goal of 250 FTEs and 1,000 AI architects by the middle of next year is described as on track.
AI strategy, three pillars
- AI for IT: the Zero Friction Enterprise offerings and the Zerovity enterprise AI platform. Eight customers have already moved workloads to AI-native or cloud-native environments since the launch earlier this year.
- AI for business: examples include digital twins and autonomous AI agents for a cross-border payments bank, and AI agents for a semiconductor company that reduced mean time to resolution by about 90 plus percent.
- AI foundation: preparing enterprise data, security and governance, and building and managing AI infrastructure.
- Expanded Anthropic partnership: a preferred partner in the cloud partner network, with an Anthropic unit being set up. About 1,200 Hexawarians are Anthropic certified.
Industry recognition
- Gartner positioned Hexaware as a visionary in custom software development services.
- ISG named it a leader in AI-powered business transformation with AWS.
What investors may watch
- The full-year results, when the CEO said priorities for the year ahead and the key assumptions will be set out.
- Progress against the stated AI hiring targets, and whether the AI offerings translate into deal wins.
