🔬 An independent researcher found last weekend that the weak keys could be reverse-engineered, possibly with AI-assisted techniques, and reported this to the Apple, Google, Microsoft and Mozilla root programs, the company says.
📌 eMudhra says its infrastructure was not compromised, no data was breached, and the global TLS business runs on infrastructure completely separate from the India DSC business, where DSC and eSign services are running normally.
📊 The affected global TLS business accounts for around 1% of eMudhra's revenue, and the company says the matter may have some reputational risks on eMudhra which cannot be quantified; eMudhra is working directly with affected customers to give them replacement certificates.
📌 The 8 issuing CAs were created under eMudhra's ECC root in a Key Generation Ceremony held on April 30, 2025 using FIPS 140-2 Level 3 HSMs.
