Airtel Business has launched Airtel IQ Gateway, which it describes as India's first telco-grade network intelligence platform for business communications. The company says the platform was launched nationwide after successful trial deployments across select banks, financial institutions and other relevant industry collaborations.
What the platform does
- Brings SMS, WhatsApp, RCS, voice communications and number verification (silent authentication) together in one place, on a single DPDP-compliant control plane.
- Lets enterprises manage multiple service providers and customer communication channels from one dashboard, with real-time analytics and delivery reporting.
- Includes native message template system (DLT) integration, automatic switching to back-up service providers and intelligent routing across SMS, WhatsApp, RCS and voice.
The problem it addresses
The company says businesses today manage fragmented customer communication stacks across multiple service providers and tools, with limited visibility into the real delivery of messages. Messages are often reported delivered even when they fail, international OTP pumping by bots inflates bills, and managing pre-approved message templates is manual and often leads to mistakes. Sectors such as BFSI, government, e-commerce and logistics are cited as being affected.
Fraud and safety features
- Airtel IQ Verify: network-first fraud scoring that evaluates network, device and usage signals to prevent fraudulent accounts from being onboarded and to safeguard genuine customers.
- Delivery transparency: network-level delivery reports.
- Silent Authentication: network-first login/SIM binding that replaces OTP SMS for login and SIM-binding flows by validating that the entered number matches the active SIM in the device, reducing SIM-swap and social-engineering risks.
- Protection from financial loss: safeguards against fraud losses and billing spikes from fraudulent SMS pumping.
Deployment options
- It can be integrated with existing communication workflows and vendor ecosystems.
- It can be installed on the enterprise's premises or hosted on Airtel's cloud as SaaS, based on customer preference and security requirements.
The business behind it
- The release describes Airtel as a global communications solutions provider with over 650 million customers in 15 countries across India and Africa, with presence in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka through associate entities.
- It is ranked second amongst mobile operators globally, and its networks cover over two billion people.
- The retail portfolio includes high-speed 4G/5G mobile, Wi-Fi (FTTH+ FWA) promising speeds up to 1 Gbps, video streaming, digital payments and financial services, while enterprise customers are offered secure connectivity, cloud and data centre services, cyber security, IoT and cloud-based communication.

The platform was launched nationwide after trials with select banks and financial institutions, and will be showcased at Airtel's booth at the India Mobile Congress from October 7–10, 2026.
