What was announced
Aequs announced the signing of long-term supply agreements with Safran, a global aerospace company, for critical components. The contracts build on Aequs' longstanding engagement with Safran Landing Systems and also extend the relationship to Safran Aerosystems and Safran Electronics & Defense. With this, Aequs says it has relationships with six Safran entities.
What the agreements cover
- Machining of superalloy parts
- Supply of complex machining coating
- Assembly of landing gear components
The parts are for the Airbus A320, A330, A350 and Boeing 787 programs.
Where the work happens
A major part of the work will be carried out at the upcoming Aequs Engine Components Ecosystem (AECE) at Hosur in Tamil Nadu. The release also says the agreements strengthen the role of Aequs' Belagavi Aerospace Cluster as an integrated manufacturing base serving global aerospace supply chains. Aequs will use its capabilities across forging, precision machining, special processes, surface treatment and assembly.
Related earlier agreement
In July 2026, Aequs signed an agreement with Safran Landing Systems for the supply of fully assembled A320 family aircraft wheels. That agreement is described as Aequs' first serial production agreement extending beyond 15 years, through 2042, and will see complete aircraft wheels manufactured entirely in India, with 100% in-country manufacturing value addition.
Relationship context
The release says the Aequs-Safran relationship spans more than a decade and extends across multiple Safran businesses, and that these agreements reflect Aequs' expanding role in supporting global aerospace supply chains from India. The Executive Chairman & CEO describes the components as among the most demanding flight-critical products to industrialize.
