- Interim Dividend
- Rs. 7.5 per equity share (75% of face value Rs. 10) for FY 2026-27
- Record Date
- 30 October 2026
- TDS Rate
- 10% with valid PAN, 20% otherwise
Dividend declared
- The Board, at its meeting held on Wednesday, 21st October, 2026, declared an interim dividend of Rs. 7.5 per equity share, which is 75% of the face value of Rs. 10/- each, for the financial year 2026-27.
- The dividend goes to shareholders holding equity shares, in electronic or physical form, as on the record date of Friday, 30th October, 2026.
- The update notes the dividend will be paid after deducting tax at source, once the declaration is approved by shareholders at the AGM.
How much tax is deducted
- Resident shareholders with a valid PAN registered: TDS at 10% on the dividend amount.
- Where PAN is not registered, is invalid, or is inoperative because it is not linked with Aadhaar: TDS at 20%.
- Non-resident shareholders: withholding at 20%, plus applicable surcharge and cess, unless a certificate for a lower or nil rate under Section 395 is provided, in which case the certificate rate applies.
Who can avoid deduction entirely
- Resident individuals whose total dividend for FY 2026-27 does not exceed Rs. 10,000/-.
- Resident individuals who file Form 121, subject to eligibility conditions and the company's acceptance.
- Resident non-individuals such as insurers, mutual funds, Category I or II AIFs and NPS trusts, on submitting the specified declarations and documents.
- Non-residents may also opt for a beneficial Double Tax Avoidance Agreement rate, but only if the required documents are submitted and accepted; the company states it is not obligated to apply the treaty rate on its own.
What shareholders need to do
- Form 121, Rule 203 declarations, treaty documents and lower-withholding certificates must be uploaded by Thursday, 29th October 2026 till 07:00 pm (IST); anything later may not be considered.
- Lower withholding certificates must be issued against the company's TAN - MUMA20507E.
- If a shareholder holds shares in more than one account under different status or category under a single PAN, the higher applicable rate is applied on the entire holding.
- Bank account details in demat accounts or physical folios should be updated so the dividend is credited on time; for physical holdings, payment is only through electronic mode after PAN, nomination and bank details are furnished.
What it means for investors
- This is a shareholder communication on how the declared dividend will be taxed and what paperwork is needed to get a lower or nil deduction.
- Where tax is deducted at a higher rate because documents were not submitted in time, the update says shareholders can claim a refund in their return of income, if eligible.
- Tax credit can be viewed in Form 168 on TRACES or the Income Tax Department e-update portal.
